A conservatory is the part of the house most exposed to the elements, and the hardest to keep properly clean. Glass that faces the sky builds up successive layers of limescale, algae and pollen that gradually cloud it over. The aluminium or uPVC frame, exposed to UV and weather, turns dull and holds marks that a simple wipe won't shift.

Cleaning a conservatory comes with its own challenges: both sides of sloping glass have to be cleaned together, the frame has to be treated without damaging the seals, and often long-standing limescale has to be removed without scratching. Shop-bought products usually aren't made for this level of dirt: experienced window cleaners use glass-specific descalers applied with a controlled contact time.
